Located in the central region and forming part of the northern harbour district, the minuscule Ta’ Xbiex has a population of 1,835 residents to date. The feast of St. John of the Cross is celebrated on the Sunday before the 25th of November. Moreover, Ta’ Xbiex is home to the largest yacht marina in the island, hence the depiction of a ship’s wheel on the town’s coat of arms endorsed by the local council on the 19th of February 1993, a time at which the local councils in the town were appointed for the first time. It also boasts a plethora of insurance companies, law firms, international online gaming companies, tech companies, as well as a great deal of villas. Pharmacies in Ta’ Xbiex include Remedies Pharmacy, Pharmaland Dispensers and Major Pharmacy.
The Malta By Night bus tour equipped with an audio system and commentary available in sixteen different languages, passes through Ta’ Xbiex from Bugibba, Paceville, St. Julian’s and Sliema.

St. Theresa College Msida Primary School
The state school forming part of the St. Theresa College houses around 350 pupils coming from Msida, Ta’ Xbiex and other nearby localities. Throughout the years, the school has seen an increase in foreign students from Europe and North Africa.
Like most state schools, this campus participates in the Dinja Wahda programme, allowing children to learn all about nature and the environment. Points are awarded for each activity and participating schools are awarded with a bronze, silver, gold or merit award at the end of the year.

St. Francis Primary School Birkirkara
The three-storey church school founded in 1885 by the Franciscan nuns welcomes children from the ages of three to eleven years old, housing approximately 330 students from a wide range of localities around Malta. Admission occurs through the ballot system at the Curia like all other church schools in the island.
The school offers holistic education through subjects such as Maltese, English, Religious Studies, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Arts & Crafts, Physical Education, Music, Information Communication Technology, Personal Social & Career Development and Home Economics.
The school staff is constituted of 5 administrative staff members, 19 teachers, 23 Learning Support Assistants, 2 kindergarten assistants, 2 spiritual directors, an IT technician who also maintains the school website, 8 domestic staff members and two members responsible for general maintenance, amounting to 63 employees. Other professional bodies include the INCO (Inclusion Coordinator), a counsellor, social worker and a psychologist, all of which provide services offered by the Directorate of Services in Educational Secretarial for Catholic Educational on a regular basis.
The first building is allocated for students of the early years, consisting of 4 offices, 12 classrooms, a library, gym with a kindergarten play area, yard, staffroom, chapel and nun’s convent. The second building is for students of the junior years, consisting of 6 classrooms, an office and staffroom. The third building welcomes students of all levels and consists of a hall, art room, music room/computer lab, clinic, counsellor room, home economics room, exhibition room and a ginormous playground allowing out-of-class activities.
