Safi

Safi or Ħal Safi is situated in the south of Malta.  The name of this village “Safi” meaning pure, is said to have derived during a nationwide epidemic, were none of the residents of Ħal Safi were contaminated.  The village of Ħal Safi already existed in 1417, and only around 80 people lived there.  When Ħal Safi Parish Church was formed it was dedicated to the Apostle of St Paul.  Nowadays, the feast is celebrated on the last Sunday of August.

St Benedict College, Safi Primary School

Safi Primary School is one of the ten schools forming part of St Benefict College.  It is a state primary school for children aged between 3 years and 11 years.  Safi school is an inclusive school and has approximately 160 students.  At Safi school they make sure that the transition from kindergarten to formal primary education is as smooth as possible.  The school has an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
