Ħamrun

Situated in the southern region of Malta, Hamrun is fairly close to the capital city of Malta, Valletta.  The locality of Hamrun is very grid like looking, with straight streets, apart from a view in the area of the police station.  Hamrun has a balance between residential and commercial.  The majority of commercial entities are situated on the main street, which is lined with shops, offices and showrooms.  The parish church is dedicated to St Gaetano and the feast is celebrated on the first Sunday after 7th August.  An annual festival, which has gained popularity and attracts a number of visitors from around Malta is The Chocolate Festival and it is normally held towards the end of October.

Here are some of the kindergartens that are found in Hamrun.

Kullegg San Gorg Preca – Hamrun School Street

At this school, your child will be the centre of all teaching and learning experiences. Their school motto is “Effort is, above all, more important than result”, making them care more about the child making an effort to learn rather than having getting a good mark and forgetting everything after the exam they did.   The school has two floors with a large yard in the middle.  Only half of the building is used as a school.  San Gorg Preca Primary School has approximately 350 students from Kinder 1 up to Year 6.  In each year there are two classes, with the number of students varying between 14 and 22 per class.  The school administration is made up of a Head and two assistant Heads.
