Marsaskala

This village is located in the south eastern region of Malta. This sea-side town is grown around the small harbour which is located at the top of the Marsaskala Bay.  This locality used to form part of Zabbar, however as the population grew it became a town on its own merits.  It has grown around the sheltered bay of Marsascala Creek and is protected by the headland of Ras il-Gżira to the south and by Ras iż-Żonqor to the north.  During the summer months the population increases, as many opt for Marsascala as a summer residence.  Marsascala offers many modern leisure facilities from bars to restaurants.  Marsascala is also known by the Maltese as Wied il-Ghajn (meaning Valley of the fresh Spring).
