Marsaxlokk

Known as Malta’s fishing village, Marsaxlokk is located in the south eastern region of Malta. Marsaxlokk is a traditional and small village which is known for its impeccable views with the tourists.   Marsaxlokk is famous for its Sunday fish market and the Maltese traditional boat “Luzzu”.    Marsaxlokk has an old history which dates back to the ninth century BC.  A very popular spot during the summer months is St. Peter’s Pool at Delimara, which is about 20 min away on foot.  St. Peter’s Pool is an excellent location for diving, snorkeling and cliff jumping down into the natural pool.  Despite Marsaxlokk being a charming village with its traditions and delicious fish restaurants, some are put off due to its shipyard and power station.  Malta’s main power station is located here.
