Gudja

Gudja lies in the far south of Malta, boasting of the Malta International Airport, the potentially Punic-Roman Xlejli Tower, Loretu Chapel in the outskirts of town, St. Catherine Chapel near the local council, the secular and private Villa Bettina, Bir Miftuh medieval chapel also in the outskirts of Gudja and the parish church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (otherwise known as the Archpresbyterial and Archmatrix Church of the Assumption of Mary) whose memory is commemorated annually on August 15th, but most of all prepossessing countryside views. Most of these sights harken back to times very fundamental in the Maltese history. Neighboring towns include Ghaxaq, Birzebbugia, Luqa, Kirkop, Luqa, Hal Farrug, Santa Lucija and Tarxien. Public health centres include the Medicaid pharmacy less than a minute away from the St. Jeanne Antide Primary School, as well as the Gudja Pharmacy situated in the opposite of the St. Benedict College Primary School.

St. Jeanne Antide Primary School

Originated in 1964 by charity sisters, commemorating the life-long dedication of St. Jeanne-Antide Thouret, St. Jeanne Antide Primary School is a church school located in the minuscule town of Gudja, opposite of Bettina Palace and near the local convenience store. This school strives to nurture children, as well as allowing them to absorb rudimentary literary and social skills and all the while instilling them with religious values. They collaborate with school councils such as Erasmus+ and Dinja Wahda. Their blog showcases excerpts of students’works through the years up to 2012. Furthermore, the school emphasizes on the importance of physical activity to ensure pupils benefit from a healthy lifestyle. The new scholastic year commences with an induction meeting for parents hosted by Sister Teresa, the head of school. Uniforms can be obtained from ID School Design in Attard. Prices vary according to sizes, otherwise prices displayed by the cash register are considered final. Since 2001, the school has been organizing summer classes, otherwise known as Summer Frenzy Gudja, starting from mid-July consisting of fun-filled activities such as bowling, swimming sessions, outings to Esplora, Malta National Aquarium, bird parks and the Galleria cinema.
