Siggiewi is situated in the south west part of the Maltese islands. It is also known as Citta` Ferdinand. Siggiewi has a population of approximately 9,000 people and in the past the majority were mostly farmers who worked in the agricultural areas that surround the village. The Parish Church is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari and is celebrated on the last Sunday of June.

Siggiewi Primary school is a public school and forms part of St. Ignatius College. The school is home to approximately 540 students and has 13 kindergarten classes and 19 primary classes. The building is very modern with two large play areas which included a swimming pool. There is a state-of-the art auditorium and landscaping surroundings.
