Munxar is a minuscule village on the southern side of Gozo close to Sannat. It has its own Local Council and the population is of approximately 1,500 people. Another close by village is Xlendi, with its beautiful Bay which is very popular with tourists and locals. Xlendi Bay is not only popular during the summer months for bathing and diving but also during late spring and early autumn for the beautiful sunsets which are often captured by artists and photographers. The Parish Church is dedicated to St. Paul and its feast officially falls on 10 February however the outside festivities are celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of May.

Gozo College Sannat Primary School & Special Unit
Children residing at Munxar attend the Sannat Primary School. The School not only offers mainstream primary education but also has a special unit for persons with special difficulties. Some students attend the Special unit on part time basis. Students attending mainstream classes from all over Gozo, can benefit from the ICT, Sensory and Cognitive sessions being held at Sannat Primary School.
