Mqabba

Mqabba is situated in the southern region of Malta.  It is a traditional Maltese village with the Parish Church being the focal point of Mqabba.  The Parish Church is dedicated to the Assumption, which is celebrated every 15th August.  Various archeological remains have been found in the proximity of Mqabba, where extinct animal remains were found in quarries at Ta` Kandja and “Tax-Xantin”.  In recent years, the Mqabba fireworks factory has built a good reputation in the fireworks industry.  On the eve of the village feast, the Mqabba fireworks, come up with a great spectacle for the traditional ground fireworks.  Thousands of people visit Mqabba to watch the fireworks.

St Benedict College, Mqabba Primary School

Mqabba Primary school forms part of St Benedict College and is a public school.  It is an inclusive school for children aged between 3 years and 11 years.  There are approximately 200 students in the school.  Mqabba Primary school is situated within the village core, with close proximity to the Parish Church and within walking distance from the local council.  At this Primary School there are 7 kindergarten classes and 11 primary classes.  The aim of the school is to help their students grow up as successful and worthy citizens, but at the same time promoting a healthy relationship between parents, NGOs and the Local Council.  The school is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator.

Mqabba Primary is an inclusive school for children between three years of age and eleven. It caters for over two hundred students. It is at close proximity to the Parish Church and within walking distance of the Local Council. It includes eleven Primary Classes and seven Kindergarten Classes. Mqabba Primary seeks to help children grow up as successful and worthy citizens, at the same time promoting a healthy home school link and good relations with NGOs and the Local Council.
