Lija

Situated in the central of Malta, with a population of approximately 3,000 people, Lija is considered as a small village.  It forms part of the three villages namely Balzan and Attard.  These three villages are renowned for their great gardens and orchards.  The parish church is dedicated to Our Saviour and the construction started in 1694.  The feast is very popular not only with the residents of Lija but with many Maltese as it is said to have the best pyrotechnics and firework display in Malta.  Lija also has several historical houses of character, plenty of citrus gardens and the official Residence of the University of Malta.

St Theresa College – Lija – Balzan – Iklin Primary School

The school forms part of the St Theresa College and accommodates students from Lija, Balzan and Iklin.  It has approximately 320 students between the ages of 3 and 11 years old.  There are around 67 members of staff which include administration, teachers, learning support assistants, kindergarten assistants, clerks and caretakers.  The school does its utmost to offer a holistic education to their students.
