Found in the central region of Malta, Gżira is located between Msida and Sliema. This locality means island in Maltese and so this town was named after Manoel Island which lies adjacent to this town. Throughout the years, the village of Gzira has seen a transformation, where many old houses have been replaced by luxurious apartments, losing much of its charm. Though in a minority, you can still find some typical Maltese houses.
